Italian textile manufacturers use mushrooms to develop leather-like materials

Italian textile manufacturer Gredo has developed a new material that is similar in texture to suede. It is understood that the material is mainly made from the membrane extracted from the large mushroom cap, similar to leather. It uses a similar method of leather processing, but it is completely natural.

The texture of the material is similar to that of suede but softer. It is breathable and waterproof, and laboratory tests have shown it provides better comfort.

It is non-toxic and harmless because it is not processed by chemicals. It can be used to make shoes, bags and watch straps that are in direct contact with the skin.
